Wow, I am surprised! This is one of the tastiest veg indian place I've ever been. A co-worker took me there and the owner/guy at register was beyond nice. Because of that I have been there several times. He is always offering free taste of new dishes and makes it a must to ask new comers to please come back again... |

The staff runs hot and cold and some are incredibly impatient and unhelpful. One of them has minimal english skills which may add to the misunderstandings. If you can make it thru that hoop, the food is simple but well-seasoned and reasonably priced.
I have found the customers to be much more friendly and helpful than the staff. |

I clearly and explicitly told the kid at the cash register that I wanted a CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. Suspecting he did not get it, I repeated the order, emphasising CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. I also then ordered a second item, which the kid seemed to have trouble entering into the cash register. The owner/manager came over and helped him finish entering the order.

When my dosa arrived, it was a plain dosa, not the Chili Onion that I requested. When I called this to the attention of the owner/manager, he asked to see my receipt. (I knew right away there was going to be trouble because I [correctly] surmised he would try to use the receipt as the final authority).

He insisted that HE had taken my order and he insisted that this is what I ordered. Meanwhile, I insisted that I told the KID, twice, specifically what I ordered. I was repeatedly contradicted.

What makes it worse is that I have been coming in every week for quite some time and I always order the same thing. Other store owners would have got the pattern by now.

I am treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism at all of the many other Indian establishments I eat at.
The guy at Amma needs to learn how to treat customers.

No, the customer is NOT always right, but this time the cafe really screwed up!

I will never go back. There are many other fine Indian restaurants around, some of these guys know me by name, and NONE of them would ever contradict a customer who claimed that their order was wrong |
