INDIAN FIELDS TAVERN has been nationally acclaimed by Gourmet and Bon Appetite Magazines for the quality of the regional dining experience we offer. We pride ourselves on our reliance on local growers, Chesapeake Bay watermen and our own herb and vegetable gardens to provide the bounty that we meticulously bring to the table.
Southern specialties such as jumbo-lump crabmeat, Smithfield ham, black-eyed peas and collard greens, augmented by the finest products available from around the world, all figure prominently in our innovative
"New Virginian Cuisine."
Our menus change frequently to reflect the best that the season has to offer. Check back often to our web site at www.indianfields.com to view our present menu offerings.
In addition to our seasonal offerings, we also maintain a core of menu items which never leave. These include such perennial favorites as...
Wilted Baby Spinach Salad-
Baby spinach tossed with a dressing of applewood smoked bacon, cider vinegar and pear confit with black walnuts & gorgonzola
Crabcakes Harrison-
Our signature jumbo lump crabcakes served on Sally Lunn croutons with crispy Smithfield ham and hollandaise.
Steak Lyons Den-
Angus filet mignon medallions, pepper-crusted, seared and finished with a merlot & Stilton sauce

There really is no other dining experience like Indian Fields Tavern. Start with a relaxing drive down scenic route 5. The grounds make you want to linger. The menu is moderately priced and the amazing dishes described as "Innovative Virginian" cuisine will leave you full and content. The dining rooms with hardwood floors and original artwork have a soothing ambiance. IFT is time tested since 1987, now with new chef/owner Erich von Gehren (a former Wash. DC veteran chef). He has ramped up the menu to highlight regional and seasonal ingredients. A memorable experince! Great food |

The dish I had was outstanding as was the atmosphere and the friendliness of the male host. Indian Fields is a lovely Tavern. However, the portion served for the portabella mushroom, swiss chard, & pasta dish was skimpy at best. I was shocked and insulted to see how small the $16.95 entree was. It was delicious, but I can honestly say it was gone after about 6 bites. My partner's meat dish was ample, but the vegetables were also extremely modest. I do not see that four brussle sprouts and a couple of tablespoons of potatoes constitute a serving. |
