Been in Dallas for 6 years, and have been to almost all restaurants in town. I did not know what I was missing till I came here. Awesome food, great variety. Possibly one of the very few places that have a dinner buffet. The ambience is awesome. The food is great! Try some of their Tamarind juice while you are there. And some of their sweet rice (sometimes mixed with strawberries or mango). Indian choice as well as various other varieties.. (Tofu sticks... i havent seen them anyplace). Very healthy too. Great for Jains also. |

Kalachandji's is incredibly awesome! It has the best vegetarian food in Dallas, and probably Texas too! Kalachandji's is a buffet that is mostly kind of Indian in flavor, with rice and dal and subjis ,(vegetable dishes), and they also always feature some kind of international dish such as veggie enchiladas or spinach filo pastries or chinese styles. They have a well-stocked salad bar and delicious home-made dressings, the almond dressing being my favorite. They have the best samosas in town by far!!!
Rock Stars such as Peter Gabriel, REM, The Eurythmics, BB King, The Pretenders, and others have eaten at Kalachandji's when they are on tour. Kalachandji's has a beautiful enclosed outdoor courtyard with a wonderful shade tree surrounded by flowers and mellow fountains.
There are also two nice dining rooms, decorated with Indian silk paintings depicting the adventures of Krishna and other gods.
Adjoining the resturant is a colorful bookstore and giftshop, which has all kinds of Indian goods such as insence, soaps and oils, sarees and other Indian clothing, many books on Hinduism, jewelry, and lots more!
Go to Kalachandji's and enter another world! |
