Almost every family has one particular restaurant that becomes a family favorite. Bert's Wooden Indian has been that restaurant for my family for over 40 years.
In what might be Bert's farthest delivery, members of my family who now reside in Florida have actually placed large take-out orders to take back with them. When quizzed at the airport about the package, the reply was simply, "Bert's Barbeque." A knowing smile and a friendly wave through sent my family members on their way.
Bert's is most known for their delicious barbeque sandwiches, although other items on their menu are equally delectable. The sandwiches and French fries are traditionally served in small, wicker baskets with plenty of napkins.
Although the well-known jukebox is gone and sorely missed, the friendly atmosphere and decor of Bert's is always consistent. When walking into the restaurant, the sight of the famous wooden Indian greeting the guests always brings a smile to one's face.
I highly recommend that Bert's becomes a family tradition to anyone wanting a delicious meal, warm surroundings, and outstanding customer service. |
