My husband and I have been eating regularly at Namaskaar for over a year now. We love the Malai Kofta (best I've ever tasted) and the Vegetable Biryani. The service is always wonderful, smiling and courteous (maybe they're read some of these reviews). Yet we've been looking for a less expensive way to indulge. I will try the other locals mentioned. |

It is located in very convenient place, but the people who work there are not paid properly. That's is the reason they look dull with low energy. The food can be rated low and the service is worst. |

I second and third the "rudes" and raise you a cheap buffet - peas, lentils, shop-rite "can-can" special veggies and rice. Most places offer at least some paneer dishes and saag dishes with a buffet or some kind of mixed vegetables with a delicious sauce. This one truly sucks, and if you order on menu they are overpriced to boot. We live nearby and stopped going after our 2nd experience (we thought maybe they had an off day!)
Bhoj is nearby and is really delicious of you head east on Essex Street (430 Market St Elmwood Park) India Chef in the International plaza is good for take out and their Dosa are godlike! LOL - also another great place with a bar (but a bit of a hole in the wall) has a great little weekend buffet as well called Raja Palace on Rt 46 in Lodi it's sandwiched between some used car places.
TRUST me I know good indian food and Namaaskar is NOT it. |

We have been to Namaskaar a dozen times or more. Sometimes for the buffet, or with the Entertainment coupon for evening dinner. The buffet is not the best. But for the money it's worth it. With the coupon, the dinner is the better bet. While not top notch Indian cuisine, we've never had a bad meal there. And the staff has always been courteous. I don't understand that complaint. Oh well, maybe we've been lucky.
For GREAT Indian food, try Chand Palace buffet (Tues night ONLY, in the banquet room and NOT mentioned in their website) in Parsippany. |

Impolite Staff, horrible food, no courtesy and respect towards their customers, both the waitstaff and the chef need some badly needed hospitality and cuisine training in earnest. |

I've eaten lunch and dinner many times at Namaskaar and my title says it all. Ambiance is admittedly well ahead of most Indian restaurants (which still says it's below average), but the food IS just mediocre. More meat dishes than average cater to American eating habits, but make this a questionable choice for traditional Indian devotees and vegetarians. And they're right about Namaskaar's rubber bread and about Raja Palace on 46 in Lodi. Even though I'm a meat lover, I love good Indian cuisine because veggies can be tastier than meat if they are well prepared. Lots more excellent veggie dishes, just as many meat dishes, an attentive staff, and fresh, hot, delicious bread make Raja Palace head and shoulders above Namaskaar for Indian cuisine. |
