The review posted for this restaurant in 2003 bears no resemblence to the experience my husband and I had in April 2005.
We ordered appetizers, a main dish each, and 2 naans. After a long wait [at least half an hour, although they were not busy] a waitress brought our main dishes. We asked what happened to the apps, she removed the dishes from the table and said she check on the apps.
We told her to forget the apps just leave the dishes she had brought. I reminded her about the bread ... we finished our main courses and still no bread appeared. I asked where it was and pointed out that we'd finished eating. She said she go and check.
We were appalled ... of the 5 items we ordered only 2 had arrived. We said we didn't want the bread now because we'd finished our dinners. She said OK, like it happened all the time.
She apologized but didn't offere to find out what was happening in the kitchen. It seemed like it was a regular thing.
Other diners seemed to be also having problems with their food and with the service. Another table also didn't get their bread until after they'd finished eating.
As if the problems with the kitchen were not enough, the place was VERY dirty. The tablecloth was grimy and there was food spilled down the wall and thick dust along the top of the baseboard heating cover, as well as food under the table.
The carpet was dirty and frayed along the whole of one edge with big loops of fiber that one could easily trip on.
I would NOT recommend this place. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I have worked in restaurants myself and so have several family members and I've never seen or heard of such a fiasco. |

Clean, professional service, "medium" truly means medium, not fire-breathing nor wimpy. Love the chicken tikka masala, channa masala punjabi. Good naan. Try the mango juice! If you like coconut soup, my husband thinks theirs is the best. It has lots of slivers of coconut, a soup you have to chew! Waiters are quiet and reserved unless you draw them out. |
