Not only have I been treated rudely by the owner, but so have a couple other friends of mine on two other occasions. Hospitality is important to a meal. The food was decent, but below Shalimar and Madras Masala quality. |

Shehan-Shah is my favorite Indian restaurant in Ann Arbor, but that's not saying much. It's filling and good enough, but nothing spectacular.
First, something important to remember: Their 'medium' spicy is other restaurants' 'hot'. Personally, I love it; most restaurants are too tentative with the spice.
It's run by a very friendly man and his family, and he obviously cares about his guests' experience. The restaurant is clean, but the decorations make it look cheap. Prices aren't exactly cheap, but aren't too bad, with entrees costing approx. $12-16.
It's as good as any Indian in Ann Arbor, and if you like spicy food, it's definitely worth a try. |
