Raja Rani has been around for close to thirty years. When it had no competition in Indian food, they had quite good food. Funny how now that they have some real competition in the area (Madras Masala, Shalimar, Temptations), they have fallen by the wayside. Not only has the food gone downhill, but so has the service. And the pretty house that they moved into about 20 years ago is looking worn and tired. |

I agree with the first review. People say this is the best, but I've frequently been disappointed. I order simple dishes, like Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan. It's never as good as other restaurants. Not horrible, but not top-notch. |

Almost by rote, many in Ann Arbor will tell you that this is the best Indian food in the city. I won't say it's not, but it's not great and has many peers.
The food is passable, but portions are small. The setting is a lovely white house, but last I was there, the seating was cramped as they tried to fit a restaurant into rooms build for a residence.
Other possibilities in Ann Arbor, but I've yet to find very good Indian anywhere in town. |
