My wife and I walked into Rani at 2:50 p.m. today for lunch. We were refused service by the employee behind the bar, who simply stated, "We're closed." The posted hours stated that they were open until 3 p.m. for lunch, and there were many people remaining in the restaurant at the time of our attempted visit. We really enjoyed our previous visits to Rani, but given today's service, I'm not sure we will return. |

Rani Bistro is hyped as a restaurant specializing in Hyderabadi cuisine. Their food is nothing like that. We ordered classic Hyderabadi dishes and all of them were very ordinary. The spices weren't right and there really was no difference in taste between Rani Bistro's fare and that of any run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. The service was poor. The one thing that is nice is the soothing ambience and the spaciousness that is usually lacking in area Indian restaurants. You'll be better off at their sister restaurants Bhindi Bazaar and our favorite, Tanjore. |
