I have to agree with the other *positive* reviews. I've been to Indian restaurants all over (including NYC and SF), and Bombay House is as good as any. The food is generally not outstanding, but it is good...in particular, their Tandoori chicken is some of the best I've had. The lunch buffet is excellent and reasonably priced. As for the service, I've never had a bad experience there. |

My wife and I were at Bombay House on the night they opened - not even knowing it. And for the next year, when we went, it was fairly empty. But as word got around how good the food is, they clearly became almost too popular for their own good. So the wait got longer. But after leaving Bloomington, and trying Indian restaurants in three cities (all with good reviews) we have never had Indian food as good as Bombay. Guests to town that we took there have said the same, and these are people from major cities like Chicago with all the Indian they could want. |

I have only been here once and was really impressed with the Lamb Korma it was so creamy and very mild. I was so impressed that I thought about it for days afterwards. A friend dinning with me ordered a different Lamb dish which was very spicy. I would suggest that you ask the server if a dish is spicy if you have not had it before as many dishes from that area of the world are hot. The server did stop by a couple of times to check on us. |

I go to Bombay house fairly regularly and I've never had any problems. The food is delicious, the chicken is always extremly tender. The service isn't great, but I've never been left for an unusual amount of time. I've never seen more than two servers working at a time, so sometimes they get bogged down, but that'll happen in any restaurant. Considering the size of the restaurant, I'm always really impressed by the service they give. The portion size is very good for the price. |

I have been to nearly every restaurant in the Bloomington area, but I have only received terrible service at a handful of them... Bombay House was definitely one of the worst. After being seated, we (my two friends and I) were given menus and water. We were never asked if we would like anything other than water. We all decided on dishes that were vaguely described to us by our server, who was much more interested in the 3 girls next to us than even trying to please my group. Our appetizer came out after about 20 minutes of waiting (which was fine since they were relatively busy), but we never got any refills on our water. The food was spicy enough that we were nearly begging for water. The girls next to us received their beers, plus 2 more bottles before we finally got our refills on water. About an hour and 10 minutes after sitting down, we finally got our food. The dishes were good, but for the price there wasn't a lot of food there. I ordered a lamb dish which was slightly overcooked, but still edible. After being there for nearly 2 hours, we were patiently waiting for the check to come and for some more refills, but it wasn't until the table of girls (who had a crowd of male servers around them almost the whole time) next to us made a scene about how we hadn't been taken care of very well that we finally got our check. We had to stop somewhere on the way home to get something else to drink because the food had been spicy but we never got our last refills. |
