Bombay Palace 202-331-4200
2020 K St., NW
Washington, DC 20006

Evoking the luxury of South Asia, Bombay Palace was the pioneer upscale Indian restaurant. Its set-price multicourse business lunches make it popular with downtown executives, including those in the nearby offices of the International Monetary Fund. Despite the sumptuous setting, however, the family-style dishes are reasonably priced, making this branch of the international chain appetizing to young couples and fans of Indian cuisine.

A truly amazing experience and atmosphere Dec 27th, 2003
We have been to Bombay Palace about 3 times in the last month for lunch. Everybody at my work loved their food so more of us decieded to give it a try. We have not been disappointed. The service was attentive and food was served promptly so we all could easily eat and get back to the office within 45 minutes. I especially liked the "vegetable jalfrezie" and "pudina paratha." I would skip the desserts but after being served such big portions...it does not feel like a big loss. A few co-workers tried their "executive lunch entrees" and liked it a lot.

Formal Atmosphere, Good Food Apr 28th, 2003
We met up with a friend at the Bombay Palace; it was on his recommendation that we ate here.

The service was impeccable, almost to the point of being too formal, but still quite friendly. We ordered a selection of items, including the Assorted Platter appetizer. Everything was tasty and well-prepared; the level of spiciness was just right for us.

The wine list was small, but fitting. I found a bargain Alsace Gewürztraminer that was delicious, and a perfect foil for the food.

For what is being offered at this restaurant, the dining experience was well-priced. I felt that we were getting a good value.
