We were visiting Tucson and after reading the reviews decided to try the lunch buffet. The price ($4.99) was amazingly inexpensive (and included a basket of Nan bread!).
The buffet included a number of chicken dishes (Tandoori, Murg, etc.), different Indian style vegetables, rice, salad and a very sweet rice pudding (Kheer)for dessert. A very satisfying lunch time meal, so much so that we had to eat lightly at dinner.
We recommend this restaurant strongly--you cannot go wrong. |

It has been a long time since I've been to any other India food restaurants but this restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Tucson (not for just this cuisine). The only times I've been there are during the lunch buffet (usually on Sunday). With our family of 9 we get seated right away (I never remember waiting for more then a minute or two and even then you can start getting your food at the buffet). For groups over 12-16 I'd suggest you make reservations though as the place is not setup for really large groups.
As far as the food is concerned it is really good! Most of the buffet items are mild to hot. The bread with garlic that comes with the meal is brought straight from the kitchen and is a great delight! Our whole family loves Indian now (as the little children used to not like the food at all, but this place has changed their minds).
Inside the restaurant it is nice and quiet with dark red tablecloths and cloth napkins folded elegantly at each place. Bathrooms are a bit on the dingy side but this is the only place that you'd find an un-elegant feeling. The service is always real good. Something to keep in mind is the restaurant does close at 3 in the afternoon and then reopens at 5. So don't show up for a late lunch or you'll feel rushed.
Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to enjoy Indian food for the first time or just wanting to find great Indian food that they have learned to love so dearly! I'm sure you can't find something much nicer in food or service. |

Looking for indian food? Well look no further, just head on over to Gandhi Cuisine of India.
The food here is excellent, and in terms of spice level you get a choice of mild, medium, hot, or crazy hot. That, along with plenty of vegetarian choices, evryone is sure to find something they'll like.
And it is one of the few places that have a good lunch buffet so you can get a sample of a variety of indian foods, including dessert.
We normally start out with the vegetarian appetizer plate, some Kashmir nan, and settle into a curry for the main course. |
